UHMW-PE (Click for Properties & Specs)
Back to the Materials Group main page.

UHMW ( Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene ) is an excellent replacement for metals, ceramics and wood. Because the material is corrosion resistant, long wearing, and self lubricating, it reduces down-time on machinery parts. Moving parts operate noiselessly when made from UHMW-PE. In addition, it has good thermal and electrical insulating properties. UHMW-PE is commonly used as lining in storage containers and material handling systems; is a superb material for use as wear parts in machinery and equipment.

Key Properties:corrosion resistant self lubricatingimpact absorbingwear resistant light weight

Uses:food processingpackaging equipment conveyor wearstripstruck bed linerssliderbed wear pads

*Key points to remember: UHMW polyethylene is a superior material to stainless steel, and operates well.
