| UHMW-PE (Click for Properties & Specs) Back to the Materials Group main page. UHMW ( Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene ) is an excellent replacement for metals, ceramics and wood. Because the material is corrosion resistant, long wearing, and self lubricating, it reduces down-time on machinery parts. Moving parts operate noiselessly when made from UHMW-PE. In addition, it has good thermal and electrical insulating properties. UHMW-PE is commonly used as lining in storage containers and material handling systems; is a superb material for use as wear parts in machinery and equipment. Key Properties: corrosion resistant
self lubricating impact absorbing wear resistant
light weightUses: food processing packaging equipment
conveyor wearstrips truck bed
liners sliderbed wear pads*Key points to remember: UHMW polyethylene is a superior material to stainless steel, and operates well. |
